Jane Hickinson

Qualified in 1995 and spent five years on a medical ward in Grimsby hospital specialising in cardiology and respiratory conditions.

Became a district nurse for 2 years then a practice nurse working in a GP surgery.

In 2010 Jane undertook a medical degree in autonomous practice and then completed the independent prescribing course.  This further qualification enables Jane to work alongside her GP colleagues seeing the minor illness/ minor ailments elements that present in the practice.  Jane can prescribe treatments and refer for investigations which allows the GPs to spend more time on complex cases.
